Your quant score also contributes to your GMAT total score, which ranges from 200 to 800. Quant scores technically range from 0 to 60, but the range in which people actually score is 6 to 51. Your score on the quant section is determined by three things: the number of questions you answer, the number of questions you answer correctly, and the difficulty of the questions you answer. If you’re doing well, you’ll receive more difficult questions. If you’re struggling, you’ll receive easier questions. What that means is that the difficulty of the questions you get will be adjusted as you get questions right or wrong.

However, unlike the integrated reasoning and analytical writing assessment, the quant section is adaptive. Like the two previous sections on the GMAT, you’ll take the quant section on a computer. The quant section is the third section of the test, after the analytical writing assessment and integrated reasoning sections. There are 31 multiple choice questions on this section that test your abilities in these areas, and you’ll have 62 minutes to complete the section. The GMAT quant section tests your ability to analyze data and draw conclusions using reasoning skills.
